We are looking forward to new adventures for 2017 with our horses and guests. 

We had so much fun this summer, with wonderful guests, horses and amazing nature. We are already looking forward to next summer. The new dates are now on our homepage and plenty of photos on our Facebook page, don’t be shy to look us up there by the name of Hekluhestar. The first day of summer was on the 21th of April and we here at the Hekluhestar farm are super excited about that. It means we get to go on the riding tours soon. The training of the young horses was magical, it was such a good group. We have welcomed few guests visiting us for riding and it was wonderful, we are looking forward to more riding experiences with new friends. 

The weather has been wonderful, cold but sunny and bright. The training of the 15 young horses inside is going well and we are looking forward having them with us in the riding tours this summer. 

We always look forward to January each year because then the young horses come inside and we start working with them. Now, there are 15 youngsters inside since 8th of January and they have adjusted so well. We are riding out side on the 5 and the 6 years old, working on the gates.  We are still just working inside with the 4 year old. It’s so much fun and we learn so much from each other. Thank you to all of our wonderful guests for magical 2015. We are looking forward seeing old friends in 2016 but also to get to know new friends. 

Wow, time flies when you are having fun. This summer has been absolutely wonderful, with fantastic people, great horses, magnificent landscape and variable Icelandic weather. We feel so fortunate to be able to do the riding tours in the highland of Iceland and we want to thank all our guests for coming all the way a cross the oceans to ride with us. 

We had truly amazing rides in July, 6 day tour in beginning of July and than a 8 day ride last week. We loved every minute of it and we at the Hekluhestar family are so grateful for our wonderful guests that make our rides so memorable and fun.
