Young horses

The Hekluhestar family has 14 young horses inside for the moment that we are working with. They are doing a fantastic job and we are hoping that some of them will be ready to work with us next summer in the riding tours.

Winter time

Winter has arrived and there is snow all around. The sheep are inside and the horses have their winter hair on. It is cosy time at the Hekluhestar farm.

Riding tours 2012

The horses are in the fields happy grazing and all the sheep are home sound and save. The Hekluhestar family is now planning the riding tours for 2012. We will offer the 6 and the 8 days, also the summer night rides. People are also always welcome to contact us with special request.

Sheep round up

The sheep round up was last week and yesterday the farmers were collecting their sheep. It was really a nice day, people and sheep are happy.

The horse riding tours are finished this year but we are already looking forward to next year. We have a good feeling about it. Now we are going to start to train the young horses and that is always fun.

Last riding tour

The eight day ride from the 1th of August to the 8th of August was great! The atmosphere was fantastic and there was a lot of joy.

Now the last riding tour of the season is starting, a 6 day ride. It is sad that the season is almost finished, we met so many wonderful people, the weather was good and the horses did a great job. We are already looking forward the riding tours next summer!

8 day riding tour

We came home from a 8 day riding tour in the Fjallabak area on Monday. A Huge thank you to all of our guest that made the riding tour so special.

Riding tours

We have been on two 6 day riding tours. Both groups were great, so positive and fantastic people. The weather has been very nice and the horse are in good shape. Tomorrow we are going for the first 8 day riding tour and we are looking forward to that. The Hekluhestar family want to send a HUGE Thank you to all of our guests who have all been so nice and the atmosphere has been so great.

First summer night rides

This is the first summer that Hekluhestar family offers a summer night ride. We have been out now few nights and it is amazing, riding in the bright night. We want to thank our guests so much for experiencing the night with us and our horses.

First foal of the summer

The firs foal at the farm is born! The family of Hekluhestar is so happy about it. The mother and the foal are doing well. We are now getting the horses ready for the riding tours. We are looking forward going back to the mountains.
